Recently, a fake order circulating on social media created confusion regarding the initiation of serving powdered milk to children in government schools in Rajasthan. The misinformation prompted a swift response from the Mid Day Meal Commissioner, Vishwamohan Sharma, who clarified that there is no such directive or intention from the government.

The origin of the fake order can be traced back to a letter from the Secondary Education Department to the Commissioner of the Rajasthan State Education Board. The letter, dated a few days ago, primarily focused on updates about toilets in schools and instructions for regular cleaning. However, some malicious lines were added, suggesting inappropriate practices such as serving cow's milk to children in classes 1 to 8.

Upon discovery of the misleading information on March 8, 2024, the government and relevant departments swiftly took action to remove the viral posts from various social media platforms. Commissioner Sharma emphasized that there is no official directive to feed children cow's milk, and such intentions do not exist at the moment.

The controversy surrounding the distribution of powdered milk was already a contentious issue within the department, making the false directive even more impactful. The source of the misinformation remains unknown at this time, raising concerns about potential mischief within the education system. The government and relevant authorities are actively investigating the matter to identify those responsible for spreading false information.
