For the third consecutive day on Sunday, July 28,2024 fish continued to die in the Rang Sagar Pond of Pichola Lake. The contractor responsible for oxygen recharge visited the pond in the morning to test the oxygen levels in the water.

Tej Shankar Paliwal, a member of the Lake Development Authority, stated that the oxygen level was normal in the morning. 

During the day, sunlight increased the oxygen level in the pond. However, at night, the oxygen level drops, causing small fish to die.

To prevent this, Paliwal suggested that fountains and oxygen plants should be operated at night as well.
