Government Approves Repairs for Damaged Bridges in Udaipur

The damage bridges in Sayra and Gogunda will be repaired 
 

The government has finally addressed the issue of damaged bridges in Sayra and Gogunda, which were impacted by the Biparjoy cyclone. After 17 months, the Public Works Department (PWD) received approval of over Rs 3 crore for the repair of eight damaged bridges in these areas.

Tender Process Underway for Bridge Repairs

Following the finance department's approval, the PWD has issued tenders for the repair work. The department will propose the tender premium based on the minimum rates provided by contractors. After this, final approval will be granted.

Additional Approval for Flood-Affected Infrastructure

The PWD has also received conceptual approval for roads and bridges affected by excessive rainfall during Flood 2024. This includes Rs 39.84 lakh for five roads and three bridges in Badgaon, Rs 19.8 lakh for four roads in Gogunda, Rs 4 lakh for a bridge in Sayra, and Rs 64.59 lakh for four roads and one bridge in Vallabhnagar. The tender process for these projects is now initiated.

SDRF Approval for Road Repairs

In addition, approval has been received for patchwork and repairs from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). This budget addresses the problems caused by potholes and damaged bridges during heavy rainfall. The PWD will carry out patchwork on 934 roads and repair bridges with a total budget of Rs 16.76 crore.
