Record Revenue Expected from Hariyali Amavasya Fair This Year
Hariyali Amavasya fair in the city is set to take place on August 4 and 5, 2024. Preparations for the event are in full swing, with Udaipur Municipal Corporation anticipating record revenue this year.
Over the past two days, the auction for the fair’s stalls at Saheliyon ki Badi has earned the corporation Rs 15 lakh. This revenue comes from the auction of 550 out of 855 stalls. The remaining 305 stalls have not yet attracted bidders. The corporation will collect revenue separately from vendors who come on-site with receipts.
Fair to be Held at Various Locations
The district administration has appointed executive magistrates to manage the fair. The Hariyali Amavasya fair will be held at several locations, including UIT Pulia, Saheliyon ki Badi, Fateh Sagar's Pal, Fatehpur Chowki area, and Sukhadia Circle. On the first day, both men and women are allowed to attend, while the second day will be exclusively for women.
The tender for the swings at the fair are open from July 31, 2024 with a minimum bid of Rs 1 lakh set by the corporation. Once this amount is added, the total revenue is expected to exceed Rs 16 lakh, surpassing last year’s total of Rs 13.63 lakh by Rs 2,37,000.
Arvind Jarauli, Chairperson of the Municipal Corporation's Revenue Committee, highlighted that this year’s fair is expected to generate the highest revenue ever. The swings will include attractions like the Chakkri and Dollar swings. Additional stalls will offer food and beverages, toys, clothing, and household items, with separate stalls for Pani Puri, Dabeli, and other foods.
