A 26-year-old doctor discovered a piece of a human finger inside an ice cream cone ordered from a shop in Mumbai on May 12,2024.

The incident occurred when the man, who is pursuing his post-graduate studies, purchased the ice cream from Yummo Ice Creams. Shocked by the find, he immediately lodged a complaint with the company on their Instagram page. 

Receiving no appropriate response from the company, the doctor preserved the piece of flesh in an ice bag and approached the Malad police station to file a formal complaint.

“I had ordered three cone ice creams from an app. One of them was a butterscotch ice cream of Yummo brand. After eating half of it, I felt a solid piece in my mouth. I thought it could be a nut or a chocolate piece and spat it out to check what it was. I am a doctor so I know how body parts look like. When I carefully examined it, I noticed the nails and fingerprint impressions under it. It resembled a thumb. I am traumatized." - The doctor

The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Yummo Ice Creams based on the complaint. The severed finger has been sent for forensic analysis, an official stated.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to determine how the piece of flesh ended up in the ice cream.
