Leopard Caught in Trap Near Bhutala in Gogunda
So far six leopards have been caught in traps set by Forest Department
Udaipur, October 25, 2024 – A leopard was caught in a trap this morning, October 25, in the Gogunda area of Udaipur district. However, the location of the trapped leopard is far from the areas where there have been attacks on humans.
With this capture, so far six leopards have been caught in the traps set by the Forest Department. One of the captured animals broke out of its cage on October 22 at the Sajjangarh Biological Park and has not been found yet.
This morning, villagers heard a leopard’s roar from a trap set near Bhutala in the Mindavatos region of Gogunda. People informed the Forest Department immediately. A team later arrived at the location and preparations were made to transport the trapped animal to the Sajjangarh Biological Park, Udaipur.
The Forest Department had set traps in the area following leopard movements. On hearing the news, a large number of villagers gathered at the scene.
The location where the leopard was trapped is about 25 kilometres from the villages of Rathodon Ka Guda and Kelwon Ka Kheda, near which the Forest Department had established a base camp after attacks on villagers by a leopard.
