Leopard Trapped in Cage in Mavli
The animal had regularly been attacking livestock in the area; Forest Department sets up trap
Udaipur, November 1, 2024 – A leopard was trapped in a cage set up by the Forest Department in Ladana village of Mavli early yesterday. According to villager Mohanlal Meghwal the animal was regularly preying on livestock in the area, thus causing much concern to residents.
A few days ago, the leopard had hunted down 2-3 livestock. On the villagers’ demand, the Forest Department set up a trap.
People saw the trapped animal at around 7:00 am on Thursday and immediately informed the Forest Department. A team, along with Fatehnagar police, arrived on the scene and transported the caged animal to Udaipur.
Villagers say that there are approximately five to 10 panthers in the area which have been regularly attacking cattle.
