The state government has issued an order to close all slaughterhouses and meat shops in Rajasthan on September 8 and September 17, 2024. This decision means that these shops will remain fully closed for two days, as per the government directive.

The request for the closure was made by Dr. Pushpendra and Jinendra Jain, President of the Jain Youth Council. They had sent a letter to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on August 24, 2024.

Following this, the Director and Joint Secretary of the Department of Autonomous Governance in Jaipur issued the order on September 5,2024.

The order instructs all municipal bodies and officials in Rajasthan to ensure closure of these establishments on September 8 for the Samvatsari festival and on September 17 for Ananta Chaturdashi.
