MP Rajkumar Roat's Car Falls into Ditch; No Major Injuries Reported
The accident happened near the border of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan; biker involved sustains minor injuries
Udaipur, December 2, 2024 - Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) leader and Member of Parliament (MP) from Banswara-Dungarpur, Rajkumar Roat had a narrow escape yesterday afternoon after his car fell into a 10-foot deep roadside ditch in Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred near Kunda village in the Sarwan police station area, while the MP was on his way to attend a social event. Neither Roat nor his staff — driver and gunman — were injured in the accident but a biker involved sustained minor injuries.
According to Sarwan Police Station Officer Ranjeet Singar, the accident occurred when MP Roat's vehicle swerved to avoid colliding with a motorcycle coming from the opposite side. In an attempt to avoid the biker, the car lost control and plunged into the ditch. After the incident, a large crowd gathered at the site.
Roat quickly arranged for the injured man to be taken to a nearby hospital. The injured biker, identified as Pankaj (30), a resident of Bavdi Khera in Ratlam, was later admitted to a hospital in Ratlam.
Later, the MP posted a video on social media explaining what had happened. He said he was on his way to attend a social event in Ratlam after which he was to leave for Delhi later that evening. The mishap happened near the border of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. He confirmed that the biker, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time, had sustained only minor injuries.
The incident has disrupted Roat's plans to attend a Tribal Family Reflection Camp organised in Shivgarh's Kherkhuta village. The camp, aimed at addressing the concerns of local tribal communities, proceeded in the absence of the MP. BAP MLA from Aspur, Umesh Damor, attended the event instead.
