Narayan Seva Sansthan to Hosts 43rd Free Mass Wedding for Differently-Abled

The ceremony will include 28 differently-abled and 23 underprivileged brides and grooms
 

Udaipur, February 6, 2025 - Udaipur-based Narayan Seva Sansthan is set to organize the 43rd Free Mass Wedding Ceremony for Differently-Abled and Underprivileged Individuals on February 8-9, 2025. The event aims to support individuals facing societal prejudice and financial struggles in getting married. Since 2004, Narayan Seva Sansthan has organized 42 mass weddings, uniting 2,408 differently-abled couples.

Grand Wedding at Seva Mahatirth, Udaipur

The wedding will take place at Seva Mahatirth, Badi, Udaipur, where 51 couples will tie the knot. The ceremony will include 28 differently-abled and 23 underprivileged brides and grooms. A large dome has been constructed at the venue for the rituals, which will be conducted according to Vedic traditions.

Official Announcement and Poster Release

During a press conference, Public Relations Officer Bhagwan Prasad Gaur shared details about the event. The official wedding poster was released by PR head Gaur, media officer Vishnu Sharma Hitaishi, and wedding coordinator Rohit Tiwari.

Couples from Various States to Get Married

Couples from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh will participate. Many of them met during medical treatments or training programs at Narayan Seva Sansthan and decided to support each other for life.

51 Wedding Altars and Traditional Rituals

A total of 51 wedding altars (Vedis) will be set up, where Vedic priests will perform the sacred seven vows. A chief priest has been appointed to oversee the ceremonies.

Wedding Schedule and Ceremonies

  • February 8 – Wedding celebrations will begin with Ganesh Pujan, Mehendi, and Haldi ceremonies in the morning, followed by a grand Ladies’ Sangeet in the evening.

  • February 9 – Grooms will perform the Toran ritual, followed by the Varmala (exchange of garlands) ceremony on a beautifully decorated stage.

Blessings from Dignitaries

The founders of Narayan Seva Sansthan, Padma Shri Kailash 'Manav' and Kamla Devi, along with special guests, will bless the couples. Many philanthropists will act as “spiritual parents” for the brides, giving them away in marriage.

Live Broadcast and Guest Participation

The entire wedding will be broadcast live through digital and electronic media. Over 1,000 guests from cities like Delhi, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Raipur, Kolkata, Ranchi, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Indore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Shimla will attend.

Dedicated Committees for Smooth Arrangements

A control room has been set up at Seva Mahatirth to manage the event. Various committees have been assigned responsibilities for guest reception, food, transportation, security, medical aid, and stage management.

Gift Hampers for Newlywed Couples

Each couple will receive essential household items, including:

  • Cookware sets, gas stoves, wooden trunks, tables & chairs, bedding, clocks, fans, clothing, and toiletries.

  • Jewelry items such as mangalsutra, earrings, toe rings, anklets, nose pins, and rings.

After the ceremony, the newlywed brides will leave in traditional palanquins (dolis) and be transported to their hometowns in Sansthan-arranged vehicles.

Inspiring Love Stories

Pooja and Sunil’s Story - Pooja, from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, lost her eyesight at the age of 4 due to smallpox. She met Sunil Kumar, a polio survivor, at a bus stand. Their friendship turned into love, leading them to decide on marriage.

Hem Kumari and Subhash’s Journey- Hem Kumari, from Chhattisgarh, and Subhash Dhobi, from Ahmedabad, both use wheelchairs. Despite their challenges, Subhash is a wheelchair cricket player and businessman. Their love story began on a journey to Raipur and led to their union.
