Need of Superintendents for Posts at RNT, Udaipur
There is a pressing need for superintendents at the six hospitals operated by RNT Medical College, Udaipur. However, only five professors from Udaipur have shown interest in these positions.
On August 30, 2024 the Department of Medical Education conducted interviews for these superintendent roles. Dr. Lakhan Poswal, the former principal of RNT Medical College, also attended an interview for a principal position in Jaipur.
The six hospitals under RNT Medical College in Udaipur include MB Hospital, Pannadhay Janana Hospital, TB Hospital, Super Specialty Hospital, Chandpole Hospital, and Hiran Magri Satellite Hospital. Currently, these hospitals are managed by acting superintendents.
This is the first time interviews are being held specifically for superintendents at single-specialty hospitals, whereas previously appointments were based on seniority. The new superintendents will serve a maximum of three years.
Eligible candidates for the interviews were professors with at least five years of service and ten years of combined experience as professors and associate professors. During the interviews, they were asked about their preferred positions.
With Dr. Vipin Mathur currently serving as principal in Udaipur, changes in the principal position seem unlikely for now. The government has yet to set a date for announcing the new appointments for superintendents and principals.
