'Online Applicants Must Not Be Called to Nigam Office'

Commissioner Ram Prakash warns of disciplinary action against erring officials

Udaipur, September 27, 2024 –The Udaipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner has issued strict directives to officials to not to force individuals to submit hard copy documents for any online application submitted to the Corporation. He said that it had been observed that applicants are sometimes forced to submit offline documents owing to ‘deficiencies’, which is contrary to the online work guidelines and defeats the purpose of online process.

Announcing this yesterday, September 26, 2024, Commissioner Ram Prakash said that all corporation tasks must be conducted online. He has issued a letter to this effect to heads of the Building Department, Revenue Department and all subordinate officers/employees. Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in disciplinary action against the officer responsible, he warned.

Ram Prakash said that the Department of Local Self Government, Jaipur, had issued guidelines that departmental tasks like name transfers, building permits, etc., must be resolved 100% through online means. The aim was to facilitate the public and ensure timely resolution of all corporation-related matters.

However, during the scrutiny of name transfer applications, it was found that applicants are told to get objections published in newspapers and submit hard copies to the corporation office. This was against the established norms, he said, adding that once the announcement is published the applicant must upload a copy of it to the online portal and also send it to the Corporation office for additional processing. This process will eliminate the need for individuals to physically visit the Municipal Corporation.

Ram Prakash assured people that all tasks related to the Corporation would be finished within the timeframe set by the state government. He urged applicants to ensure they provide all the necessary documentation during the application process. All corporation tasks are being handled electronically and will be finished promptly, applicants do not have to go to the corporation office for their tasks, he added.
