Now Chetak Circle to Have Wider Roads
All work to be carried out with mutual consent from residents, says the administration
Udaipur, November 22, 2024 – In its efforts to open up traffic bottleneck at key locations in the city, the administration has now turned its focus to the Chetak Circle. City MLA Tarachand Jain, Mayor Govind Singh Tank, CA Ashish Kothari, chairman of Municipal Corporation Building Permission Committee, Committee members Manohar Chaudhary, Mukesh Sharma, Executive Engineer Akhilesh Goyal, Ritesh Patidar and Revenue Officer Nitish Bhatnagar inspected the intersection and issued a directive to start the development work based on mutual agreement.
According to MLA Jain, the road at Chetak Circle intersection on the left side when coming from Hathipol is only 30 feet wide when it, in fact, should be 100 feet wide. Many street vendors have set up stalls there and old vehicles are parked in the area for a long time. These will be cleared and the road will be widened.
Additionally, a small garden located at the corner from Education Bhavan Chowk to the Hill Bus Stand, will be removed. This area is also near Guru Gobind Singh School and during school dismissal time traffic is heavily impacted. Similarly, the Saras booth located there will also be shifted to the rear.
MLA Jain also directed that poles in the garden at the corner near the Hill Bus Stand and the road leading to MB Hospital should be removed to allow smooth traffic movement towards the hospital.
CA Kothari said all work will be carried out with mutual consent from residents.
