Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, March 11, 2024, inaugurated two stretches of the Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor passing through the state of Rajasthan. The inauguration ceremony took place in Gurugram. An NHAI official reported that the PM inaugurated two packages of the project, spanning from Sangaria to Santalpur. Sangaria, located in Hanumangarh district, marks the beginning of the stretch, while Santalpur, situated close to the Rajasthan border, falls within Gujarat. The construction cost for this 53 km stretch amounts to Rs 1,799 crore.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari also participated in the inauguration program via video conference from the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC) in Jhalana. Expressing her views, she emphasized that the Amritsar-Jamnagar corridor would usher in new opportunities for the entire state.
The Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor, spanning a total of 917 km and featuring six lanes, will traverse through Hanumangarh, Ganganagar, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Barmer, and Jalore districts. Approximately 637 km of the corridor is slated to pass through Rajasthan.
The inauguration of these stretches marks a significant milestone in the development of infrastructure in the region, promising enhanced connectivity and economic growth prospects for the states involved.
