Rajasthan Aims to Connect 9,27,901 Families to Solar Energy Scheme
The state government has set an ambitious target of connecting 927,901 families to the PM Solar Home Scheme by the end of this year. As of now, only 1.32 lakh families have been linked to the scheme, falling short of the goal of 185,580 families set for August.
In Udaipur, there are 767,664 families in rural areas and 136,715 families in the city. To date, 2,000 applications have been received for the scheme.
To promote solar energy use, the Education Department will organize painting, essay, and speech competitions in schools under the theme "Illuminating the Future with Solar Energy." This initiative, announced on August 23, aims to encourage children to discuss solar energy with their families and inform parents about the benefits of the scheme.
Director Sitaram Jat has stated that these instructions are based on a central government directive. The goal is to speed up the implementation of the scheme and boost awareness among villagers and the general public.
The government’s plan outlines specific monthly targets: 46,355 families by July, 185,580 by August, 371,160 by September, 556,740 by October, 742,320 by November, and 927,901 by December.
