MLSU: President Droupadi Murmu to Grace Geology Department’s Upcoming Jubilee Event
The Academic Council meeting of Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU), chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sunita Mishra, convened on Tuesday with significant decisions and announcements. For the first time, student representatives participated in the session.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sunita Mishra disclosed that President Droupadi Murmu will grace the university's upcoming event next month, marking the Platinum Jubilee of the Geology Department, celebrating 75 years. The President will also inaugurate a new laboratory with a budget of Rs 2 crores.
During the meeting, the Academic Council approved approximately 51,000 degrees from the previous academic session. Vice-Chancellor Mishra highlighted the ongoing effort to upload degrees on DigiLocker, with 2,37,766 degrees already uploaded, marking a record for Rajasthan.
Introduction of New Booklets
In a significant decision, the Council announced no increase in course fees for the current academic session. Controller of Examinations Dr. Rajesh Kumawat announced the introduction of new answer booklets after a decade and a half, aimed at expediting exam processes and result announcements.
Student representatives suggested for enhanced access to legal data and regular educational tours, respectively.
New Criminal Law to be Added in Syllabus
Professor Dr. Rajshree Chaudhary's proposal to introduce a new Criminal Law in India has been approved. Beginning this academic session, the curriculum will be adjusted to include studies of the newly amended law.
