President Droupadi Murmu to Attend MLSU Convocation
The convocation ceremony of Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) is scheduled for Thursday, October 3, 2024. President Droupadi Murmu will attend as the chief guest, and the ceremony will be presided over by the Governor of Rajasthan, Haribhau Bagade. This marks the second time a president has participated in the university's convocation ceremony.
Event Preparations
Preparations for the event are in full swing. 17 different committees have been formed to handle various aspects of the ceremony. The program will take place in the Vivekananda Auditorium at 11:30 AM.
Dress Code for Students
A dress code has been established for students, teachers, and staff who will be honored during the convocation. President Murmu is expected to stay for about an hour. During her visit, she will honor selected medal-winning students and unveil a statue of K.P. Rode, the founder of the Department of Geology.
Security Meeting
In light of the President's visit, a coordination meeting on security management will be held today, October 1,2024, at Maharana Pratap Airport's VIP lounge. The district collector has instructed related officials to attend the preparatory meeting at the scheduled time.
Additionally, the UDA Commissioner, Rahul Jain, has been appointed as the nodal officer for all preparations. During the ceremony, the President will also engage in dialogue with selected tribal school children from the district.
Previously, in 2004, then-President APJ Abdul Kalam attended the ceremony.
