Proposed 765 KV Power Grid to Improve Udaipur Electricity Supply
Proposed power grid station on Udaipur-Chittorgarh route will allso transmit solar energy to Gujarat and MP
Udaipur, October 26, 2024 – Electricity infrastructure in Udaipur appears to be on the path of improvement after the state has begun strengthening its electricity production capabilities. In the Thar Desert, solar plants are being set up and a significant amount of solar energy will be produced here in the coming years and be provided to other States.
The city is expected to see a continuous supply of electricity following the establishment of a proposed 765 KV power grid station in the Vana-Menar area on the Udaipur-Chittorgarh route. This will play a crucial role in transmitting solar energy produced from the solar parks in Jaisalmer-Barmer to southern Rajasthan, as well as to Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
Another station is being constructed in Sirohi, and electricity from Barmer-Jaisalmer will pass through Sirohi to reach Udaipur's station. From there, it will be supplied to Indore and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh.
Rajasthan is expected to contribute significantly to the production of solar power by 2030.
