In a significant and promising development for the unemployed youth of Rajasthan, Monday, 24 July 2023, marked a day of multiple uplifting news. Several employment opportunities have emerged, promising to alleviate the state's job crisis and empower the aspiring workforce.

Firstly, a total of 11,723 contract workers have received long-awaited appointment orders, offering them stability and a chance to contribute to the state's progress. This move is expected to provide much-needed relief to those struggling with uncertainty in their livelihoods. Secondly, the healthcare sector is set to witness a boost with the recruitment of 787 Ayurveda medical officers. This step not only promises better access to traditional medicine but also creates job openings for medical professionals to serve the people of Rajasthan.

Thirdly, the state government has taken a positive stride by approving 3,500 nursing staff posts. This decision is poised to enhance healthcare services and cater to the growing medical needs of the population while creating employment avenues for skilled nursing professionals. Furthermore, the education sector is set to benefit with recruitment opportunities for school lecturers and laboratory assistants. These teaching and technical positions will not only strengthen the education system but also offer deserving individuals a chance to shape the minds of the future generation.

Lastly, 100 posts for Unani medical officers are now open for recruitment, signifying the government's dedication to promoting diverse forms of healthcare and extending employment opportunities in the medical field.

Out of the 18,120 contract workers employed in NHM (National Health Mission), 11,723 of them, which amounts to approximately 64.69 percent, have been appointed under the new Contractual Hiring to Civil Post Rule of 2022. The Additional Chief Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, Shubhra Singh, has issued screening orders for the remaining employees and instructed them to carry out the recruitment process to fill the vacant positions.

Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni, the Mission Director of NHM (National Health Mission), has stated that the screening process for the remaining NHM contract workers, who are to be appointed under the new rules, is underway in all districts. They have set a timeline from July 26 to August 10 to complete the verification and appointment procedures, ensuring all personnel's documents are in order.

The schedule for district-wise screenings is as follows

• July 26: Ajmer, Baran, Chittorgarh
• July 27: Dholpur, Jhalawar, Pali
• July 28: Jaipur I, Jaipur II, Sawai Madhopur
• July 31: Alwar, Barmer, Dungarpur
• August 2: Jaisalmer, Kota, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Tonk, Banswara
• August 3: Bharatpur, Bundi, Dausa, Jalore, Jodhpur, Churu, Nagaur, Rajsamand, Sirohi
• August 4: Udaipur, Bhilwara, Karauli, Hanumangarh, Bikaner, Pratapgarh

During these dates, the respective district headquarters will be the venues for the screening process.

Dr. Soni has further conveyed that strict instructions have been given to take disciplinary action against the Chief Medical and Health Officer of each respective district and the screening team for any legal and administrative repercussions arising from their failure to submit the contract worker's case on the specified date. This measure has been implemented to ensure compliance and accountability in the screening process.

Considering the shortage of nursing personnel in state medical institutions, the Medical and Health Department has taken the initiative to address the issue. They have issued official orders for the allocation of posts for Nursing Officers and Women Health Workers on an urgent temporary basis (UTB) in a district-wise manner to fill the existing vacancies promptly. Shubhra Singh, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, emphasized the importance of providing high-quality, free medical services to the residents of the state. To achieve this goal, the department has approved the recruitment of 3500 nursing staff members through the UTB process. The District Collectors have received clear instructions to expedite the hiring process and fill the vacant nursing positions on a UTB basis.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has given his approval to a proposal aimed at enhancing the educational facilities in the state by opening additional faculties in 47 government schools. Out of these, 39 schools will introduce a science faculty, 3 schools will offer a commerce faculty, and 5 schools will have an arts faculty.

The distribution of new faculties across various districts is as follows

•  Jhunjhunu: 5 schools
• Bikaner, Dausa, Jaipur: 4 schools each
•  Barmer, Alwar, Sikar, Jodhpur: 3 schools each
• Udaipur, Bharatpur, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur: 2 schools each
• Ajmer, Bhilwara, Churu, Dungarpur, Jalore, Karauli, Nagaur, Rajsamand: 1 school each.

To support the functioning of these newly introduced faculties, the government will create 143 posts for school lecturers and 39 posts for laboratory assistants. This initiative aims to provide local students with the opportunity to pursue their studies in the field of their interest within their vicinity. It's worth noting that CM Gehlot had announced this development during the discussions on the Finance and Appropriation Bill.

As per the Rajasthan Ayurvedic, Unani, Homeopathy, and Naturopathy Service Rules, 1973 (as amended), there has been an increase of 135 posts for Ayurveda Medical Officers. With this update, the total number of Ayurveda Medical Officer posts available for recruitment has risen to 787. Earlier, an advertisement (number 02/2023) was released for the recruitment of 652 posts. Bhagwat Singh, the Joint Government Secretary of the Department of AYUSH, stated that this increase in recruitment will benefit both long-term contract doctors and unemployed doctors seeking opportunities. The online application for this recruitment can be submitted until 26th July 2023, up to 12 midnight. Applicants can make amendments to their submitted applications until 31st July 2023. On Monday, Minister of State for Ayurveda, Dr. Subhash Garg, informed the Vidhan Sabha that Unani medicine is now available at 234 block headquarters across the state. He also mentioned that an advertisement has been issued for the recruitment of 100 posts of Unani Medical Officers, and the recruitment process will be completed soon.

Furthermore, Dr. Garg disclosed that as part of the budget announcement for the year 2023-24, the government has created 112 new posts for Unani Medical Officers. He added that the process for establishing an Unani College in Jodhpur is currently underway. Moreover, the budget has also allotted funds for the establishment of a Center of Excellence in Regimental Hijama Therapy at Bharatpur.

Regarding healthcare infrastructure, the Minister shared that under the budget announcement for the year 2023-24, progress is being made in setting up an Unani hospital in Balotra-Barmer and upgrading Ayurveda dispensaries in Nadbai-Bharatpur, Lavan-Dausa, and Shri Mahavirji-Karauli, Hindaun-Karauli to AYUSH hospitals. Additionally, it has been announced to make Unani medicine available in 100 AYUSH hospitals/dispensaries, and steps are being taken to implement this initiative. Overall, the State government is taking significant steps to strengthen and expand the availability of Unani medicine and Ayurveda healthcare facilities in Rajasthan.
