Rajasthan's first registered vehicle scrapping facility is at Jaipur

Tata Motors launched the RVSF at Jaipur

There are several benefits of scrapping a vehicle

In Jaipur, Rajasthan, Tata Motors opened its first registered vehicle scrapping facility (RVSF). This cutting-edge facility, which was opened by the Honorable Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has a 15,000 vehicle capacity annually.

According to the company, it uses top-notch, environmentally friendly procedures to safely and sustainably disassemble end-of-life automobiles. It is designed and created to trash end-of-life passenger and commercial cars of all brands by Tata Motors' partner, Ganganagar Vaahan Udgog Pvt. Ltd.

"The National Vehicle Scrappage Policy was introduced to promote a circular economy by creating an ecosystem for phasing out unfit and polluting vehicles and to achieve a lower carbon footprint in the country by replacing them with greener and more fuel efficient vehicles," Gadkari said.

The facility is entirely digitalized for hassle-free, paperless operations and includes designated stations for the secure breakdown of parts including tyres, batteries, gasoline, lubricants, liquids, and gases. The cars go through a rigorous documentation and dismantling procedure that is particularly suited to meet the needs of passenger and commercial vehicles.

Benefits of scrapping a vehicle

  • You can receive a 4% to 6% discount when you buy a new car if you scrap your old, unsuitable vehicle under India's scrappage policy.
  • There are other benefits, such as a free of the registration charge and a road tax reduction of up to 25% for both commercial and non-commercial cars.
  • While purchasing a new vehicle, you will receive an additional 5% discount when you provide the certificate of deposit. This reduction is in addition to the scrap discount.

Disadvantage of owning an old vehicle

  • The costs for a fitness test and the issuance of a fitness certificate will be higher if a commercial car is older than 15 years.
  • The cost of registering a private car will increase if it is more than 15 years old.
