Rajiv Gandhi Rural-Urban Olympics: More number of participants from Udaipur rural areas
The Olympics is set to begin from June 23, 2023
The highly anticipated Rajiv Gandhi Rural and Urban Olympic Games are set to commence on June 23rd. Notably, there has been a greater participation in registrations from rural areas in the Udaipur district. The district administration has initiated the necessary arrangements for the upcoming Olympics. In the Udaipur district, a remarkable total of 317,010 registrations have been received from rural areas, while urban areas have witnessed 61,907 registrations.
According to District Collector Tarachand Meena, Udaipur district has secured the top position in the state in terms of registrations from rural areas, and it has achieved an impressive third rank from urban areas, making it one of the leading districts overall. As per the information provided by District Collector Tarachand Meena, the Rajiv Gandhi Rural and Urban Olympic Games will encompass various competitions in rural areas. These include kabaddi, tennis ball cricket, volleyball, football, kho-kho (women's category), shooting ball (men's category), and tug of war (women's category). Likewise, in the urban area, the competitions of Kabaddi, Tennis Ball Cricket, Volleyball, Football (Men's Category), Kho-Kho (Women's Category), Basketball, and Athletics (100m, 200m, 400m) will be held as part of the Rajiv Gandhi Rural and Urban Olympic Games.
According to Nodal Officer Shakeel Hussain, the Rural Olympics will feature competitions at various levels. The Gram Panchayat level competitions will span over 4 days, followed by Block level competitions lasting for 5 days. District level competitions will take place over a period of 3 days, and finally, State level competitions will be conducted for 4 days.
As stated by Nodal Officer Shakeel Hussain, the Urban Olympics will comprise a series of competitions at different levels. The municipal level competitions are scheduled to be held for 6 days, followed by district level competitions lasting for 3 days. Lastly, the state level competitions will take place over a span of 4 days.
