July 11, 2025 - The Postal Department has rolled out a game-changing update to make your life easier. Now, opening or managing a Recurring Deposit (RD) or Public Provident Fund (PPF) account at your local post office is quicker and paperless — all thanks to Aadhaar-based biometric e-KYC.

Whether you are starting a new account, depositing money, applying for a loan, paying EMIs, or even withdrawing funds — you can do it all without doing any paperwork. No documentaion will be required nor will there be the need for filling up a form.

Because of e-KYC, or electronic Know Your Customer, customer's identity will be verified digitally.
