Campaign to Remove Encroachments in Bhilwara from Nov. 16

District Collector Namit Mehta tells administrative heads to adopt zero-tolerance approach to encroachments

Bhilwara, November 12, 2024 - To alleviate the traffic jams caused by encroachments on roads and marketplaces, the district administration of Bhilwara will launch a campaign starting November 16. District Collector Namit Mehta held a meeting today at the District Collectorate Office with officials from the Municipal Council, UIT, police department and other administrative bodies, directing them to take effective action to free the city’s roads from encroachments.

During the meeting, the Collector instructed the officials to adopt a zero-tolerance approach for both permanent and temporary encroachments. Additional District Collector City Pratibha Devathiya, Additional Superintendent of Police Paras Jain, UIT Secretary Lalit Goyal, Municipal Council Commissioner Hemaram Choudhary and DTO Gaurav Choudhary were instructed to jointly form teams.

Collector Mehta mentioned that the problem of encroachment is severe on major roads such as Ajmer Chauraha, the road leading to Sanganeri Gate and Chittor Road. Due to these encroachments, the roads have narrowed, frequently causing traffic jams. He emphasised that proper planning, effective execution and follow-up should be maintained throughout the campaign to ensure successful implementation of the measures.

The Collector also instructed officials from the police department, traffic department, Municipal Council and UIT to personally visit the sites during the campaign and after consultation remove encroachments. He directed them to ensure the availability of essential resources such as adequate police personnel, JCB machines, cranes and more.
