143 MoUs Worth Rs 10,340 Cr Signed at Bhilwara Summit

Jindal Saw Ltd. signs MoU for an investment of Rs 2,500 crore, Hindustan Zinc Limited for Rs 1,800 crore

 

Bhilwara, November 9, 2024. Under the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, a district-level Investor Meet was held yesterday in Bhilwara during which 143 MoUs were signed for investments worth more than Rs 10,340 crore. This initiative is expected to create employment opportunities for over 23,000 youth.

The MoUs were signed in the presence of District In-Charge Minister Dr Manju Baghmar, MLA Ashok Kothari, MLA Gopal Lal Khandelwal, District In-Charge Secretary Rajan Vishal, District Collector Namit Mehta, Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh, public representatives Prashant Mewara, entrepreneurs and other guests at a ceremony in Hotel Gloria Inn.

General manager of the District Industries Centre, K.K. Meena said that significant investors signed the MoUs. These include Jindal Saw Ltd. which signed an MoU for an investment of Rs 2,500 crore, Hindustan Zinc Limited for Rs 1,800 crore and Sangam India Limited for Rs 1,500 crore. The highest number of MoUs - 62 -were in the textile sector, involving a proposed investment of Rs 4,621 crore and creating around 9,320 jobs. In the iron and steel sector, six MoUs amounting to Rs 2,661 crore were signed, which is expected to create 7,590 jobs.

Similarly, 11 MoUs worth Rs 33 crore were signed in the agro and food sector, seven MoUs worth Rs 371 crore in the medical sector, 11 MoUs worth Rs 1,824 crore in the mineral sector, 10 MoUs worth Rs 309 crore in tourism, three MoUs worth Rs 12 crore in furniture, two MoUs worth Rs 9 crore in the plastic sector, seven MoUs worth Rs 159 crore in the petroleum sector and 24 MoUs worth Rs 337 crore in various other sectors.

An exhibition, with 20 stalls, was set up in the Investor Meet focusing on the One District, One Product initiative. It featured attractions like a theme-based Rangoli on Rising Rajasthan, stalls showcasing textile products and ready-made garments and stalls from the agriculture/horticulture, medical and mining departments. A documentary was also screened showcasing the State's investment landscape.

More MoUs are expected to be signed at the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit-2024 in Jaipur from December 9 to 11.

The event was attended by Additional District Collector Om Prakash Mehra, Urban Development Trust Secretary Lalit Goyal, AGM RIICO Ltd. PR Meena, Mewar Chamber of Commerce and Industries Senior vice president RC Lodha, Laghu Udyog Bharati president Shambhu Prasad Kabra, Synthetic Weaving Mills Association president Sanjay Pediwal and Bhilwara Textile Trade Federation patron Shyam Chandak, along with several entrepreneurs and investors.
