Rivers Overflow in Rajsamand; Children Trapped, Woman Missing
Kumbhalgarh administration facing challenges owing to torrential rain; public urged to avoid flooded areas
Udaipur, July 18, 2025 - Torrential rainfall in Rajsamand district has severely disrupted normal life. Rivers and streams are overflowing, cutting off access to several areas. Amid this situation, two concerning incidents have been reported from the Kumbhalgarh region.
In Uthdon Ki Bhagal, Kariya village, part of the Kumbhalgarh region, two children are reported to be trapped owing to rising floodwaters. Details about how the children got trapped are still unclear. Rescue efforts are underway to bring them to safety.
The second incident occurred near the bridge on the route from Veron Ka Math to Parshuram Mahadev. A woman has reportedly been swept away by a rain-fed stream. It is feared that the stream leads to the Veron Ka Math Kund, raising further concerns about her safety.
Upon receiving information about both incidents, the Kumbhalgarh Station Officer and rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the locations. However, heavy rainfall and waterlogging are posing serious challenges in reaching the affected areas.
The district administration has appealed to the public to stay away from overflowing rivers and streams, avoid unnecessary travel and keep children away from such danger zones during this period of intense rainfall.
