Rs 260 Cr Grant for Udaipur-Pindwara Highway Upgrade

Rs 100 crore allocated for repair of 11 black spots on NH 27 and work is to begin soon; this is part of Rs 1 billion funds sanctioned by the Ministry for improvement of roads

 

Udaipur, January 4, 2025 - The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has sanctioned Rs 260 crore  for improvement of road on the Udaipur-Pindwara National Highway 27. This will provide significant relief to commuters along that 105-km stretch and curb the frequent accidents that occur on the Udaipur-Pindwara highway. Road mishaps occur regularly on the Udaipur-Gogunda-Pindwara highway and the areas around the Bekaria and Gogunda police stations are among the top five in the State in terms of accidents.

The move is part of the efforts by the authorities to improve all accident-prone routes which need immediate rectification for the safety of the public and travellers. Four months ago, the Ministry had approved Rs 1 billion for the improvement of accident-prone areas.

Additionally, Rs 100 crore has been allocated for the repair of the 11 black spots on the highway, and the tender process for this work is complete. Certain locations on National Highway 27 have been identified as black spots for accidents, and immediate solutions are found to be necessary. The work to address the black spots on the highway is set to begin.
