Education Department Orders Protocol to Honor Martyrs in Schools
Director of Secondary Education, Government of Rajasthan, Ashish Modi, has issued an order for all schools to honor martyrs with proper protocol. In the directive, Modi emphasized that if a government school has a statue or memorial of a martyr, prayers and the national anthem should be conducted in front of it.
In other schools, students will now be informed about the bravery of martyrs and the armed forces during the daily prayer session. Presently, schools hold such events only on special occasions like Republic Day, Independence Day, and martyrs' anniversaries.
Abhinav Nagori School Sets Example in Udaipur
In Udaipur, Shaheed Abhinav Nagori Govt. Senior Secondary School, located in Bhuwana, is known for paying full respect to martyrs in all its events. This school serves as a model for the new directive.
Plan for Valor Symbols in All Schools
The government is also planning to install symbols of military valor in every school. The Education Department will soon draft a proposal for this project.
The valor symbol will feature an inverted rifle with a cap on top. Schools will use their construction budgets to fund these symbols. In the first phase, these symbols may be placed in senior schools across the state.
