Sevashram flyover work might begin in January
-The flyover will reduce the pressure of traffic BN College-Sevashram road.
-Smooth traffic will reduce the possibilities of accidents at this route.
The construction of flyover at Sevashram choraha is likely to begin in the month of January 2021. A tender has been sent for approval to the Chief Engineer of Urban Development and Housing Department (UDH).
It has been informed that previously the contractor had filled a tender for 19.62 crores for this project. Now it has been reduced to 18.52 crores after negotiations. Once the tender is approved by the CE, the construction work will begin. Until then, the cable lines pertaining to telephone, water, electricity under that road and the drainage system will need to be shifted for which letters have already been written to the concerned departments as this work needs to be taken care of before beginning with the construction work of the flyover.
The flyover will begin from the Dalal Petrol pump at Sevashram to The Shaheed Bhagat Singh memorial at Ayad Bridge. The 430 metres long, 13.2 metres wide and 5.2 metres high flyover will ease the traffic from these areas towards the airport.
As of now the road from BN College to Sevashram choraha witnesses a lot of traffic congestions due to immense pressure of vehicles in this area. Once the flyover is constructed, this traffic jam situation would be eliminated and there would be no situation of cross traffic and this would also reduce the number of accidents at this junction.
