Forest Department unveils 'Sky Cycling' in Valley of Flowers
New activities at Nagar Van Udhyan
The Forest Department is embarking on an innovative endeavor to bolster ecological and adventure tourism within the city. Their strategic plans include introducing thrilling activities such as sky cycling, wall climbing, and a swing akin to Bali's famed Swing, all within the lush surroundings of the Nagar Van Udhyan often referred to as the Valley of Flowers.
In pursuit of this vision, the department has solicited tenders for the implementation of these recreational facilities. The estimated total expenditure for all three adventure activities is set at Rs. 48 lakh. Their aspiration is to have these attractions fully operational by March of the coming year. Following meticulous technical assessments, the department's team submitted a comprehensive report in September, outlining the groundwork for this exciting project.
In the beginning, both the Valley of Flowers and the Mewar Biodiversity Park were under consideration as potential sites for launching these activities. However, as per the later report, the Valley of Flowers was recognized as the most suitable venue for adventure activities due to its mountainous terrain, which draws a substantial number of tourists. Presently, the park offers a jeep safari as one of its adventure activity options.
Nestled in the hillside, the park promises stunning vistas of the highway, enhancing the exhilaration of the experience with sky cycling. The Udaipur Swing, positioned at a substantial height, will provide visitors with an up-close connection to the natural valleys. These innovations are anticipated to attract more tourists in the days ahead. It's important to highlight that the city has been consistently emphasizing adventure tourism as part of its efforts to boost tourism.
The Sandol Mata Park has a 200-meter-long zip line and a water roller for visitors. Meanwhile, at the Mewar Biodiversity Park, a 100-meter zip line awaits adventure enthusiasts. In the Valley of Flowers, an impressive 700-meter-long zip line has been installed. To add to the excitement, Lavkush Vatika offers a Lakshman Swing designed for children.
