Syphon to Bedla new road construction currently underway

A two-lane flyover in the Hiran Magri area, connecting Sector 3 to Sector 5 (FCI Warehouse), is set to undergo expansion, transforming it into a four-lane bridge. This significant infrastructure improvement project aims to alleviate the persistent traffic congestion issues that have been plaguing the area. The anticipated benefits approximately 50,000 residents and commuters who frequently visit this route. Additionally, as part of this development initiative is the road stretching from Syphon to Bedla undergoes construction to ensure its durability and longevity.
District Collector Arvind Kumar Poswal is consistently committed to the swift resolution of public issues, and under his leadership, the work on the improvement of the road from Syphon to Bedla, as well as the construction of a drainage system, has been started by UIT.
A drainage system will be implemented to effectively manage rainwater and prevent flooding in the vicinity. According to the Master Plan 2031, the road from Syphon to Bedla is intended to be 80 feet wide. However, it frequently experiences waterlogging issues during rainy days due to an inadequate drainage system, resulting in numerous complaints about road damage. The implementation of road strengthening and canal construction is expected to alleviate these problems.
On Wednesday October 4, 2023, the contractor deployed machinery to initiate the construction of a four-lane bridge, necessitating a temporary traffic diversion. It is important to note that this route is the busiest one, linking the Rana Pratap Railway Station.
In accordance with the budget announcement made by the CM Ashok Gehlot, several significant projects are set to be undertaken. These initiatives aim to enhance accessibility to Bedla, Lakhawali, Sablapura and Pratapura villages, as well as Mahavir Nagar and Technocrat Society. Notably, Collector Arvind Poswal, during a recent review meeting, instructed the UIT (Urban Improvement Trust) to prioritize the proposed projects outlined in the CM Announcement for 2023-24.
UIT has issued tenders for both projects, with bids of Rs 9.84 crores and Rs 3.40 crores, respectively, and the process of issuing work orders has been completed.
