Operation Kavach-2 to Crack Down on Overloaded Vehicles
Transport Department has been on high alert to reduce accidents caused by overloaded vehicles
The Transport Department started "Operation Kavach-2" from October 24,2024. This initiative aims to take strict action against overloaded vehicles to prevent road accidents. The district administration and police will support this operation to ensure its success. The primary goal of the operation is to reduce accidents caused by overloaded vehicles.
Recently, 12 people lost their lives when a sleeper bus collided with a tempo (three-wheeled auto-rickshaw) in Rajasthan’s Dholpur district. This move follows the tragic accident, which was attributed to negligence and collusion within the Transport Department. Following the incident, Transport Commissioner Suchi Tyagi reprimanded the RTOs of Dholpur and across the state.
She issued strict instructions to all RTOs and DTOs to improve the system and prevent such incidents. Since then, the Transport Department has been on high alert.
