UDA's Roads Construction Delayed Due to Land Disputes and Acquisition Issues

The ongoing delays in road development are causing significant inconvenience for drivers and commuters in Udaipur

Udaipur, November 6, 2024: Several roads under the Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) are facing construction delays due to ongoing land disputes and issues with the land acquisition process. These roads, which connect residential colonies to master plan roads, have become a source of traffic problems in the city.

Disputes and Court Stay Orders Impacting Roadwork

In some areas, the construction of roads has been stalled due to long-standing land disputes and court stay orders. These legal hurdles have delayed vital roadwork, making it difficult for commuters to move smoothly through the city.

Land Acquisition Process Yet to Begin

In other cases, the process of acquiring land for road construction has not even started. As a result, the development of key roads that would connect urban areas is stuck, affecting traffic flow.

Ban on Land Exchange Stalls Urban Development

The state government-imposed ban on land exchanges has further complicated the situation. The halt on land exchanges has frozen the land acquisition process, especially for roads that are crucial for improving urban connectivity. Investigations are also underway regarding land exchanges from the previous government's tenure, further slowing down progress.

Traffic Congestion Becoming a Major Concern

The delay in road construction has led to increased traffic congestion in several parts of Udaipur. Many of these roads are planned to be 100-foot or 200-foot wide, but due to the ongoing issues, the projects are far from completion.

The ongoing delays in road development are causing significant inconvenience for drivers and commuters in Udaipur.
