In response to public concerns regarding water quality and pressure in Udaipur's walled city area, District Collector Arvind Poswal visited wall city areas on June 1, 2024. Accompanied by local representatives, he conducted thorough inspections and interacted with residents to address the issues affecting their daily lives.
On-site Inspection
Walking through narrow streets and alleys, District Collector engaged with residents to assess water supply conditions firsthand. Feedback revealed issues with low pressure and occasional water quality concerns.
Inspections were conducted in areas such as Mahalakshmi Chowk, Kasaron ki Ol, Mehton Ka Timba, Jagdish Road, Surya Marg, Solankiyon Ki Ghati, Peepaleshwar Mahadev Temple Lane, Rao Ji Ka Hata, Nazar Bagh, Samor Bagh area etc.
The Collector issued directives to Smart City Limited officials to rectify water supply issues in the inspected areas. Notably, a technical team was dispatched to assess water pressure in elevated regions.
Community Engagement
Engaging with residents and officials in Mahalaxmi Chowk, Kasaron Ki Ol, and other locales, the District Collector prioritized understanding local water supply challenges. Notably, residents expressed satisfaction with water quality in Kasaron Ki Ol, affirmed by the Collector's personal tasting.
Responding to reports of contaminated water in Peepleshwar Mahadev lane, the District Collector ordered immediate water testing and analysis. He underscored the government's commitment to resolving issues promptly, assuring public support during severe heatwaves.
Administrative Directives
To ensure consistent water supply, the District Collector directed Smart City officials to collaborate with local representatives in establishing area-wise supply schedules. Additionally, he mandated the formation of monitoring groups to ensure adherence to the schedule and maintain daily updates.
Firm Accountability
Addressing concerns over water supply arrangements, the District Collector instructed L&T representatives to enhance their infrastructure and technical capabilities. He emphasized the non-negotiable priority of providing clean drinking water to all residents.
