There is a new development in the dispute over the construction of a hospital on land reportedly donated to the government 15 years ago in Ward Number 41 of the city, situated at Purohito Ki Madri area. Surprisingly, no evidence supporting the claim of land donation was found during the document investigation. As per the given sources, in 2008, Navlaram Sharma donated this land to the local municipality in the presence of the then Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria and Minister Dilawar Singh. During that time, Sharma received recognition and praise from the ministers for his generous contribution. The council members in charge didn't object or try to collect any documents related to the donated land back then. Currently, Udaipur has a municipal corporation instead of a municipal council, and even in the corporation's records, there's no information regarding the donated land. However, Navlaram now lives in a different place.

During the land donation ceremony led by Navlaram, the current Municipal Corporation SE, Mukesh Pujari, was in attendance and confirmed the land donation. However, following the controversy surrounding this issue, Nitesh Bhatnagar, the Municipal Corporation's revenue officer, initiated an investigation and tasked the Revenue Record Incharge, Ghanshyam Menaria. During the inquiry, Menaria denied the existence of any records related to this matter in the Municipal Corporation. Meanwhile, Commissioner Vasudev Malavat expressed his intent to investigate the level at which the mistake occurred.

This is the Case

The land that was supposedly donated is located near Kala Bhata, right by the Government Girls' Primary School, where Navlaram used to reside. On October 14, when Madhu, Shambhulal Dhakad's wife, tried to start construction on the land, council members and local residents opposed the move, asserting that the land had already been donated for a hospital. This issue eventually came to the attention of the police. The police put a stop to the construction work. Subsequently, Councilor Kamlesh Mehta also withdrew his opposition. Then, on Thursday, Pratapnagar Station Officer Himanshu Singh Rajawat helped broker an agreement between both parties using the available documents. Madhu Dhakad's name is recorded in the land registry for 2015. Recently, the UIT issued a lease for the land. They had acquired this property from Modi Bai and her daughter Durga Devi, who had owned it since 2005.
