UDAIPUR COVID Updates (8+ve) | Police Constable from Salumber tests Positive

A case of mixed emotions for Udaipur today - Positive cases turn Negative as new infected identified

A 27 year old male, resident of Salumber was identified as a Coronavirus positive case when his test results arrived today after he was tested at SMS Jaipur.

As per information provided by Dr. Dinesh Kharade, Chief Medical and Health Officer, Udaipur, the victim, a Constable with the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) is posted at Jaipur.  He was on vacation around the beginning of the Lockdown and was stranded in Salumber when the lockdown began.  One being asked to continue serving at Salumber till lockdown was eased, he served at the Police Chowki near Salumber Bus Stand.

He came on leave to his in laws home at Debari on 18 April and was staying here since then.  He left for Jaipur yesterday, and was tested for infection on arrival.  His test results were found to be positive.  While in Debari, he was in close contact with 8 people, all of whom are being brought to MB Hospital for testing.

He belongs to Bassi Samchot in Salumber.  The staff at Salumber Police Station where he was working while on vacation, will be kept under quarantine. As per the details provided, the Constable had met around 50 other Constables on arrival at Jaipur.

Meanwhile, all 8 identified to be close contact of the Nurse who was found to be COVID19 Positive yesterday, have been declared to be Negative. These include the Nurses' 62 year old husband and 4 year old Grandson.  Laxman, the 15 year old boy from Salumber has also been declared negative. This information was provided by CMHO.

Rumors of a positive case identified today in Bedla Udaipur are baseless.

Police have already arrested two people for spreading false rumours on COVID in Udaipur.
