Udaipur: Nehru Garden set to reopen soon

Attractions reopen for visitors...

The Nehru Garden, located between Fatehsagar Lake, redevelopment is almost finished, with 90% of the work complete. The main thing left to do is planting trees and plants in the garden. They have spent about Rs 6.75 crores on this project to make the garden look heritage-style. They are also working on a musical fountain and laser show in the garden. Officials from the UDA (Udaipur Development Authority) hope that the whole project will be finished by February.

Even though Fateh Sagar Lake is managed by the UDA (Udaipur Development Authority), Nehru Garden used to belong to the municipal corporation, and Deendayal Park was controlled by the municipal council. Both groups wanted to swap these gardens, but the process took so long that both gardens got worse. Nehru Garden even had padlocks on it. To fix this, the District Collector helped them talk and agree. After the discussion, both departments gave their gardens to each other.

After the UDA (Udaipur Development Authority) took charge of Nehru Garden, they set aside Rs 7.47 crores for making it look like a heritage place and for other improvements. First, they made the walls around the garden stronger for better support. After that, they fixed up the whole garden, doing different kinds of construction work. Right now, they're almost done with all the work.

The Nehru Garden now looks more special thanks to the UDA (Udaipur Development Authority). They are fixing things like roads and buildings, and they are also working on electricity and making the garden greener. There is a cool light and sound show being set up too. With help from experts, they are making the garden look nice so that more tourists come and enjoy their time there.

Nehru Garden is named after India's first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. It was opened on his birthday, November 14, 1967. Covering 4.5 acres by the water, this lovely garden has a pond, a flower garden and many fountains. Unfortunately, it was neglected because of arguments between different groups but now there are efforts to make it beautiful again.
