Resident Doctors Modify Strike in Udaipur

Doctors have made changes following Supreme Court's action on rape-murder Case...

After the Supreme Court took notice of the murder and rape of a female resident doctor at RG Kar Medical College in West Bengal, the Udaipur Resident Doctors Association has made changes to their ongoing strike.

As part of this decision, all 631 resident doctors and 50 senior resident doctors at RNT Medical College will continue their strike in line with a nationwide protest. However, they will maintain services in critical areas such as the emergency department, ICU, emergency operations (OT), labor room, and DRP postings.

The doctors will not participate in academic activities, OPD, ward services, or elective OT systems. These revised arrangements will be effective from 8:00 AM from August 22,2024.

Before reaching this decision, the medical college’s union committee held a  meeting at the medical college. The Supreme Court of India's second hearing is scheduled for today. The Court has directed the CBI to submit a report regarding the case.
