Udaipur to Get Rs 100 Crore for Waste Management

Udaipur, March 5, 2025 - Udaipur and Jaipur, along with 16 other cities in India, will receive Rs 1,800 crore under the CITIIS 2.0 scheme to improve waste management and promote a circular economy. Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, announced this at the 12th Regional 3R and Circular Forum in Jaipur on Monday, March 3,2025.
Funding for Waste Management
The selected 18 cities will receive Rs 100 crore each as part of the initiative. This funding will help create a better waste management system and support climate action efforts.
The cities from Rajasthan were chosen through a competition among 11 smart cities. The Union government will provide both financial and technical assistance to these cities to develop an integrated waste management system.
CITIIS 2.0 is a key initiative focused on waste management and environmental sustainability. The selected cities will serve as role models for other urban areas in India.
