US Elections: Countdown to the Greatest Show on the Earth

Harris and Trump make a last frantic bid as they campaign in crucial Pennsylvania on the eve of the election

Udaipur, November 5, 2024 - Countdown has begun to the greatest show on the earth - the US Presidential election. Polling is scheduled for November 5 and will decide the fate of Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. However, it will be some days before we will know who will replace incumbent President Joe Biden because of the US Presidential system.

No matter who wins, records are set to be made. If Trump wins, he will become the oldest President in U.S. history at 78. If Harris wins, she will not only be the first female President but also the first African American and the first Asian American President (first woman of Indian descent).

According to reports, voting will begin at 6:00 am local time in various States.

Meanwhile, in the early voting conducted so far, women have cast nine percent more votes than men, a trend seen as hopeful for Harris' campaign and the Democrats. According to the data from four days before the election, that is November 1, women have accounted for 53 percent of the votes on a national level, while men have accounted for 44 percent. Notably, this difference is the same as in the last election, where the Democratic Party’s Biden emerged victorious.

With campaigning into its last leg, both Trump and Harris toured across Pennsylvania frantically, both claiming victory. Pennsylvania has the largest share of votes in the Electoral College among the seven swing States.

Harris vowed to be a President for “all Americans” as she toured Allentown appealing to the city’s significant Puerto Rican community.

Trump was in Pittsburgh saying, "We've been waiting four years for this. A vote for Trump means your groceries will be cheaper, your paychecks will be higher, your streets will be safer, your communities will be richer, and your future will be brighter than ever before," he said.
