3rd National WheelChair Cricket Championship - 2022

On 28 November at Udaipur, confident Divyangs proved that every problem can be overcome with faith, hard work and courage

 

Six league matches of the championship were held jointly by Narayan Seva Sansthan, DCCI, WCI and Rajasthan Royals. On 28 November at Udaipur, confident Divyangs proved that every problem can be overcome with faith, hard work and courage.

Institute President Prashant Agarwal said that in the first innings, Haryana vs Karnataka took place at Narayan Divyang Sports Academy. In which Haryana won the toss and scored 192 runs batting first. In response, the Karnataka team achieved the winning target by losing three wickets in 17.1 overs. Sagar Gowda of Karnataka scored 51 runs in 33 balls with the help of 9 fours and also took 2 important wickets in 4 overs and was the man of the match.

At the same time, the match was played between Gujarat vs host Rajasthan at Ranapratap Nagar Railway Ground. In which Gujarat could score only 110 runs in 18 overs while playing first. The Rajasthan team got all out for 108 runs in 15 overs and got defeated. Man of the match was Gujarat captain Bhima Kunti. Who bowled deadly and took 5 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs.

In the first innings, the first match at RCA Ground was played between Andhra Pradesh vs Uttarakhand. In which Uttarakhand won the toss and chose fielding first.  Playing first, Andhra Pradesh could only manage 105 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Coming out with strong intentions, the Uttarakhand team achieved the target in 13.4 overs at the loss of 3 wickets. Anuj Kumar of Uttarakhand, who performed tremendously well in this match, was adjudged Man of the Match. He took 3 wickets for 24 runs while throwing four overs.

Dr. Kamlesh Sharma, Joint Director, Information and Public Relations Department, while presenting the Man of the Match trophy, praised the spirits of the players. 

RCA ground:

The match was played between Madhya Pradesh vs Baroda. In which Madhya Pradesh batting first gave a record target of 274 runs for 4 wickets. Fielding, batting and bowling of the Madhya Pradesh team was amazing. The audience enjoyed it a lot. In reply, Baroda's team was reduced to 134. Kamal Kanchole of MP was adjudged man of the match. Saurabh Paliwal, Managing Director of Archana Group and DL Patidar, Director of Vats Academy honored them by presenting them with toffees and mementos. During this, WCI President Abhay Pratap Singh, Convenor Ravish Kavadia, Sports Officer Vikas Nigam, Hari Prasad Laddha, Arjun Chaudhary, Rupesh Chauhan were present. 

Madhya Pradesh broke Mumbai's record of 266 by scoring 274 runs.

Kamal, a player from Madhya Pradesh, has been playing cricket since the age of 10. His father was a security guard but he is paralyzed for a few years. The responsibility of his treatment is also on his shoulders. Kamal's life is also very challenging. Started the job of a gym trainer to run the house but left it due to not getting leave for cricket. Apart from cricket match, he fills the stomach of the family by driving an auto. He also plays for India A. Has scored 4 half-centuries so far. Looking at his performance, he was also selected in the Indian wheelchair team two months ago. Expressing happiness of this century, he praised the excellent arrangements of Narayan Seva Sansthan. In the second innings match between Himachal Pradesh and Orissa at the railway ground, Odisha won and chose to field. The Himachal team scored 196 runs for 4 wickets in the first over. Chasing the target, Orissa were bundled out for 63 runs in 13.3. The Himachal team won the match by 133 runs. Man of the match Ravi sent 7 batsmen to the pavilion giving 3 runs in 2.3 overs.And the match was held between UP and Tamil Nadu at Narayan Divyang Sports Academy. In which UP, batting first, scored a huge score of 237 runs without losing a wicket. Chasing Tamil Nadu collapsed for 40 runs in 13.1 overs. UP won this match by a huge margin of 197 runs and   Shailesh Yadav and Anmol scored brilliant centuries. 

On 29 November, 2022 a total 6 matches will be played at Narayan Para Sports Academy Ground.  Rajasthan vs Uttarakhand from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and Mumbai vs Delhi from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm, Tamil Nadu vs Odisha at 8:00 am at Rana Pratap Nagar Ground and Uttar Pradesh vs Himachal Pradesh at 12:30 pm and Punjab at RCA Ground at 8:00 am Versus Chhattisgarh and at 12:30 pm Gujarat will clash with Andhra Pradesh.
