Cyber Fraud: Phishing links send by email in the name of YouTube
Beware of phishing links
Users have been warned that hackers are sending them phishing emails with suspect links that appear to originate from a YouTube email address. The rising Cybercrime has now reached YouTube. YouTube retweeted phishing email images and cautioned users that they were originating from the address 'no-reply@youtube.com.'
The address used the YouTube domain name and the video in the image was connected to an account called 'YouTube Team,' the possibility of user misunderstanding was high. The email informed users that YouTube's rules were changing and shared a video that encouraged receivers to read a lengthier explanation by clicking on the link.
YouTube warned users not to rely on any links or files contained in emails sent from the address 'no-reply@youtube.com.' The video-sharing platform stated that its team was looking into the report and provided additional suggestions for users to keep their accounts secure.
