Rakhi tied to a Leopard by a rural woman at Rajsamand

We often read about Leopards attacking humans or cattle in and around Udaipur and in this part of Rajsthan. However an interesting video that is doing the rounds on social media is giving an altogether new perspective to the relationship between man and big cats.

A video, that is from the rural area of Rajsamand district that falls in Udaipur division, shows a rural woman tying a Rakhi on the paws of a leopard that was strolling along the road. The incident reportedly occurred at Pardi village of Rajsamand district, which was filmed by the villagers on their mobile phones and floated it on social media.

Later, when the officials of forest department went to the scene, it was learnt that it was a female Leoprd who had sustained severe injury. Due to the wounds the animal was weak and she even stopped reacting. The Leopard was strolling along the road, oblivious of the people around her and there was not even a roar from the cat.

A huge crowd gathered at the scene after spotting the Leoapard.  Instinctively, a woman from the village walked towards the leopard and tied a Rakhi on her.
