27 year old Yashwanti's journey is truly inspiring and reflects the immense challenges faced by transgender individuals in society. Despite the adversities, her perseverance has led to a significant milestone. After an arduous struggle spanning eight years since completing school, Yashwanit has secured admission in college. With this, she has become the second trans-woman to get admission in a college in the state, while Noor Shekhawat was the first of their community to secure admission at Maharani College of Jaipur.

From the age of 12, facing rejection and misunderstanding from her own family, Yashwanti found solace and support at her grandparents' home. She continued her education against all odds, enduring ridicule and rejection when seeking admission into colleges. The discrimination she faced highlights the harsh reality many transgender people endure in pursuit of education and acceptance.

Yashwanti's story also underscores the crucial role of supportive individuals like her mother and Noor Shekhawat, who encouraged her to pursue her dreams despite societal criticism. Her determination to fight for the rights of the third gender is evident from her advocacy efforts, such as petitioning for quotas and ensuring recognition in government forms.

By securing admission at Gurukul College of Sagwara in BA first year, Yashwanti not only opens doors for herself, but also paves the way for greater acceptance and inclusion of transgender individuals into educational institutions. Her ambition to become a police officer further demonstrates her resilience and commitment to breaking barriers.

While talking about her family Yashwanti said, "I have a younger brother who was born 10 years after my birth. I studied at Swami Vivekanand School at Padwa till 5th class and later on I completed my schooling from the Government Senior Secondary School at Padwa, while staying at my grandparents house. But after school, whenever I went to any of the colleges, they laughed at me and rejected me. That was the reason that I have lost 8 years of my life roaming here and there only to get myself ridiculed".

Sharing one of the incidents from her childhood, she said the neighbors never let their kids play with her, fearing that she would make their kids like her.

Yashwanti said that she felt blessed after meeting  Bharat Joshi, the Manager of the Gurukul College of Sagwara. He was the person who gave her a chance to complete her graduation and take a step towards success.

Overall, Yashwanti's triumph is a testament to the strength of the human spirit, in overcoming adversity and striving for a better future, not just for herself but for her community as well.

Yashwanti's family hails from Gujarat, but was based at Kokapur village of Sagwara area in Dungarpur district of Rajasthan.
