Miss Universe 2019 title shifts to Africa - Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa is Miss Universe 2019

Final faceoff was with Miss Puerto Rico

26 year old Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi was crowned Miss Universe at the global pageant ceremony on Sunday at Atlanta, US.

Zozibini, took home the honors beating her competition from Mexico and Puerto Rico.  The final faceoff was with Miss Puerto Rico.  India’s Vartika Singh, who was in the Top 20, crashed out of the race.  Vartika was crowned Miss Diva this year before she entered the globes biggest beauty pageant.

Dressed in a Silver-Blue gown, Zozibini, in her title determining question, said that women need to take up leadership.  Further, in her closing speech Miss Universe 2019 emphasised upon breaking colour stereotypes and empowering young women.

This was the 68th installment of the Miss Universe beauty pageant. The show was hosted by Steve Harvey, with Vanessa Lachey and Olivia Culpo, both TV personalities were back stage commentators.  The pageant winners were judged by a team of seven women.
