Alpesh has won the Rajat Kamal National Film Award 2017 for Best Cinematographer in the Non Feature Film, for his work with “Kalpvriksh“, which was directed by his course mate at FTII, Pune.  Kalpvriksh was a part of an academic project by Abhijeet Khuman, in which Alpesh partnered as Cinematographer.

Alpesh says that the film was shot mostly around Pune, mainly in Mulshi.  Some parts of the film were shot in FTII and NFAI.  He says that the effort was made to maintain the natural feel and look of the surroundings – to add simplicity and rawness to the film.
