Rajasthan Chief Minister Sworn in to Office in the presence of BJP leaders
Bhajan Lal Sharma was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan on Friday afternoon, alongside Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa, who were sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers of Rajasthan.
The Oath to Office was administered in the presence of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah. Vasu Devnani, an MLA from Ajmer North has been appointed as the Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly for this term. BJP secured Rajasthan in the Assembly Elections that were held in November, the results of which were declared in December. The BJP secured 115 seats while the Congress won 69. Elections were held across 199 constituencies in the State. The BJP finalised the names of the Chief Minister and Dy Chief Ministers on Tuesday, 12 December.
Bhajan Lal is a first time MLA from Sanganer in Jaipur and he was sworn in as the 25th Chief MInister of Rajasthan (26th, counting the Chief Minister of the erstwhile Ajmer State). Bhajan Lal is the sixth BJP Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat has held the post of Chief Minister thrice from a BJP ticket (first time it was Janata Party) and Vasundhara Raje has been BJP Chief Minister twice. Diya Kumari, an MLA from Vidhyadhar, Jaipur and Prem Chand Bairwa from Dudu, Jaipur are the two Deputy Chief Ministers of Rajasthan, a model that the BJP has adopted in Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh, as a part of its caste engineering experiment in the three states of the Hindi belt that the saffron party captured in December 2023.

Prem Chand Bairwa, also the Dy CM of Rajasthan is 54 years old and has completed his schooling. He is an MLA from the Dudu constituency, Jaipur. The various posts he has held within the BJP or in public administration in Rajasthan include being a Member of the Scheduled Caste Welfare Committee, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from 2014 till 2018. The political posts he has held include District President, Scheduled Caste Morcha of the BJP from 2006 onwards; Member, State Executive Committee, (SC) of the BJP from 2008 till 2013 and is currently Member, National Executive Slum Cell of the BJP.
