A Slap on the Administrative Services of Rajasthan and the Government of the State...

Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) Officers in Udaipur protested, following an incident where Sub-Divisional Officer (SDM) Amit Chaudhary was slapped by independent candidate Naresh Meena during the Deoli-Uniyara assembly by-election voting process.

The RAS officers have condemned the attack, viewing it as an affront attack not just on Chaudhary but on the entire Rajasthan government and administration. They submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary through the  District Collector of Udaipur, demanding swift legal action against Meena, who has reportedly evaded police custody after his initial arrest.

The incident has sparked unrest, with Meena's supporters clashing with police and vandalizing vehicles. In response to the attack, RAS officers have gone on a pen-down strike, emphasizing the need for stronger protection and accountability to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
