The buzz of college politics was apparent in the city today as various student leaders garlanded and accompanied with hundreds of supporters chanting slogans reached to file their nominations for the upcoming University elections on 18th August.
The over enthusiasm shows how competitive the elections are going to be as all key political organizations including NSUI, ABVP, CSS and DSS are facing close-knit opposition from each other.
With the beats of Dhol-Nagada and chanting of vigorous slogans, contestants rallied in their own manner – some chose to walk while others rode on vehicles. An elephant, courtesy Pankaj Borana of ABVP leading the rally was one eye catcher.
Despite some relevant and irrelevant news of internal clashes that occurred between student groups, the nomination process concluded peacefully as the police were strategically stationed to control any adverse law and order situation.
Out of many student candidates who filed their nominations, some of the most influential candidates from MLSU are Gajendra Singh Rana (NSUI), Pankaj Borana (ABVP), Deepak Sharma (CSS) and Ajitesh Rai (DSS).
Candidates from MPUAT are Dushyant Choudhary (NSUI), Puspendra Singh Jadohn (ABVP), etc.
