5th Winter Open Chess Tournament commences
Under the banner of Chess in Lakecity and with the joint efforts of Buddhibal Seva Sansthan, Lions Club Eklingji and Mrignaynee Seva Samiti, a 5th Winter Open Winter Chess Tournament in the memory of Shankarlal Marudiya commenced on Tuesday at MDS School, sector 3.
Under the banner of Chess in Lakecity and with the joint efforts of Buddhibal Seva Sansthan, Lions Club Eklingji and Mrignaynee Seva Samiti, a 5th Winter Open Winter Chess Tournament in the memory of Shankarlal Marudiya commenced on Tuesday at MDS School, sector 3.
Trainer and Organizing Head Vikas Sahu said that the program was inaugurated by mayor Chandrasingh Kothari. The special guests were corporator Luvdev Bagdi, Praveen Marwadi, Surendra Mogra, Rakesh Sain, Naresh Maheshwari, Prakash Virani and the event was presided by R.C Somani.
The prize of Rs. 51,000 is one of the biggest amount in the history of chess that is kept for this tournament. Judges Vatsalya Yadav and Gayatri Kataria informed that after 3 rounds, Nand Kishore Chandel, Govind Chandel, Nikhil Yadav, Manthan Chittora, Atul Hingad, Dhruv Dak, Vibhav Pamecha, Richin Jain, Arun Kataria, Yogesh Hingad, Sudhakar Gautam Kataria, Advocate Praveen Kothari, Siddharth Seth, Harshit Chandaliya, and Saket Agrawal secured 3 points.
Chandrajeet Singh Rajawat, Shubhani Kapoor and Vandan Lodha secured 2.5 points. The fourth round will commence on Wednesday at 9 am.
