The Coming Generations Will Talk About This’: This Star Wins Gautam Gambhir’s Heart with Heroic Performance

July 28, 2025: In the Manchester Test, the Indian team did something that no one had expected. They came back from the edge of defeat and managed to draw the match, which is being praised by everyone. But soon after the match ended, head coach Gautam Gambhir shared bad news about wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant — he is out of the series.

Rishabh Pant Out Due to Injury

Rishabh Pant got injured on the first day of the Manchester Test match between India and England. Because of this injury, Pant had to retire hurt in the first innings. Later, he came back to bat even with a broken leg. It was found that he had a fracture in his right leg, which is why he could not do wicketkeeping in the entire match.

He also could not bat at his regular position in the second innings. After the match, head coach Gautam Gambhir confirmed that Pant is out of the series, which means he will not play the last Test match.

What Did Gautam Gambhir Say?

Gautam Gambhir gave an update on Pant's injury and praised his fighting spirit. Batting with a broken leg was not easy, but Pant forgot his pain and put the country first. He scored 54 runs from 75 balls in the first innings.

Gambhir said, "Unfortunately, Rishabh Pant is out of the Test series, but no words are enough to praise him. Coming out to bat with a broken leg — future generations will remember this."

This Player Replaces Pant

Shortly after Gambhir's announcement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also released a press note confirming that Pant is out of the series. Along with this, the Indian board announced his replacement.

Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper-batsman Narayan Jagadeesan has been added to the squad for the last Test match in place of Pant. However, Jagadeesan will only stay in the squad, as Dhruv Jurel is expected to be part of the playing XI.
